COVID-19 - ACADEMY POLICIES
Last updated: 3/16/2020 - - Statement
Dear Parents and Students,
Our top priority during this health crisis is to safeguard the health and well-being of our students, family members and staff, as well as the community at large. We all have a social responsibility to take appropriate action to do so. Due to the latest proclamation issued by Contra Costa Health Services, we are suspending all group classes and private lessons until April 7th. The order from the Health Officer is to shelter at home and avoid non-essential travel.
As you know, the situation is fluid and can change moment to moment. We will notify everyone by email, posting to our Facebook page and through our website, if anything changes. We encourage students to continue to train to reduce stress, which in turn helps boost your immune system. Go to your Student Account to gain access to a variety of online videos to help with your at-home training. View the videos so you can continue to practice until the academy resumes classes and private lessons. If you have not set up your account, let us know and we will send you the invitation to join.
We ask those of you who are financially able, to continue paying your tuition in order for CKFA to continue paying the instructors and keep the academy going until we resume normal operations. All private lessons will be rescheduled and all programs will receive an extension as appropriate to the length of closure.
“As martial artists we are trained to do the right thing at the right time. Life is giving us a test that will make all of us masters.” - Sifu Terrance Thornton, San Rafael Martial Arts
Throughout all of this, we have been overwhelmed by your support, patience, and understanding. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of our community.
Thank you for your continued understanding and support!
Lo Si Evelina Lengyel, Sifu Andrew Lengyel and all the staff at CKFA
